A piece that was inspired by Hunter giving Spyro orbs in Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. In my version, beams of light and sparkles swirl into the center to eventually explode, revealing a looping effect of a legendary item being given to the player.
As a League of Legends fan, I was inspired to create a projectile based on Lux's Star Guardian Skin. Miniature stars begin to swirl circularly, creating anticipation for a star in the center to be shot out at the opponent, doing an explosion on impact.
A simple stylized fire shader created in Unity.
In procreate, I created a 2D lightning strike animation then exported the sprite sheet into Unity and added small explosive particles.
Environmental VFX is something I wanted to try, so I made a simple rain sprite sheet then exported it into Unity as a particle system.
A character trail created for a game that will be releasing to Steam. uses a mix of light render to cast light onto the environment, ribbon render to help create a trailing effect, and sprite renders to create small particles to come off as well as beams of light.
Hand-painted lightning texture attack with commonly used techniques such as UV Distortion to break up custom textures and procedurally generated meshes.
After modeling, and animating this sequence in Maya, I primarily used mesh render and custom textures. The top part has 3 elements of floating/rising particles and two low elements of meshes with panning textures. The bottom uses a mix of panning textures and UV distortion.
